Golden Evening by Christine Derrick

Original acrylic painting on box canvas. 20 x 8 inches and approx 1.5 inches depth (50cm x 20cm x 3.5cm). Framing not required, since the landscape subject is continued around the edges. This is a small, impressionistic style painting, using evening light in the countryside as the main theme. There are many occasions when the land seems to glow with a soft gold during early evening, and in this scene it is pervading the hills and cropfields. On the field edges, small clumps of poppies and wild flowers are gathered, emphasised gently with thicker paint.
The sky has been painted with several glazes of gold-yellow and transparent red, giving a delicate veiled effect.

Hi, Here I present two different concept of my art. The first two of them are the decoration paintings and the rest is my heart work as emotion paintings. Most of my art is representational, without being photographic. I work in Watercolour, Pastel, Oils and Acrylic (Not necessarily in that order of preference) I prefer to sell my work framed, but for on-line postal purposes, I will let go of watercolours in a 'mounted' state. I usually double-mount these, and enclose them in 'cello-wrap', for protection and with a stiff backing board, that a framer could utilise.

Original acrylic seascape painting to buy on box canvas, measuring 20 x 20 inches (50 x 50cm), and 1.75 inches (4cm) depth. No framing required. This view across the sea on a hot summer's day was taken from a high vantage point at one of Clevedon's (North Somerset) attractive seaside walks. The painting is done on a lightly textured base of gesso with sand particles. In the foreground, the mudflats have been created with low-relief texture paste and gel, then overpainted with blue, sienna and silver acrylic paint.
